Ms.
Ferraiuoli is a founding partner of the boutique firm of Nigaglioni &
Ferraiuoli Law Offices, PSC. She obtained a Bachelor of Liberal
Arts from The Johns Hopkins University and a juris doctor
degree from Boston University School of Law. Her certification
paper–
Wrongful Termination Statutes in the United States– analyzed
several wrongful employment termination statutes and proposed a model to
diminish the overall economic impact of such legislation.
She is
admitted to practice before the courts of the Commonwealth of Puerto
Rico, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First
and District of Columbia Circuits, the U.S. District Court for the
District of Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Court of International Trade.
She has also been admitted to practice pro hac vice before
several State and federal courts.
Ms.
Ferraiuoli's practice includes general civil and commercial litigation
and consulting, concentrating her experience in the federal courts. She
has argued several times before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First
Circuit, where she prevailed in the case of Fagot v. Republic of
Costa Rica, 297 F.3d 1 (1st Cir.
2002), a precedent-setting case raising several issues of first
impression in our circuit with regards to the Foreign Sovereign
Immunities Act.
As a
member of the Federal Bar Association, she has served in the Puerto Rico
Chapter's Board of Director since 1999; currently, she serves as the
Chapter's President. She regularly lectures on federal
jurisdiction, abstention doctrines, and federal appellate practice.
